Our CSR Vision and Mission

Prison Ministry India (PMI) have long been regarded as pioneers when it comes to rehabilitating and re-settlement of prisoners. Their programs for determining just how prisoners are supported both in and out of custody, as well as what meditations should be applied and more importantly at what point in the process, has led to ground-breaking new initiatives and a true end to end process.

SILVEX’s CSR Vision Statement sums up the objective of the principal strategy.

We will break the cycle of repetition and reduce re-offending rates by imbuing our offenders with the attitudes, skills and education to enable their return to society as pro-social citizens.

Our Mission statement outlines the actions necessary to achieve our Vision.

SILVEX has joined hands with the Prison Ministry of India to support them in the activities carried out by their volunteers in various prisons in India as under:

  • Daily Visits, Comforting & Counselling.
  • Free Medical check-up camps for Eyes & Diabetes.
  • Vocational Training & Computer Education
  • Value Education & Talent nurturing Classes
  • Preparing the Youth for Higher Education
  • Celebration of Festivals.
  • Prayer Meetings.

These programs are conducted at various prisons in Maharashtra, especially Yerwada & Nagpur prisons where PMI has a well-organized network of volunteers.

Although these programs directed to the inmate population, will also benefit the institutional staff by providing inmates with an opportunity for better use of free time and improvements in inmate morale. Moreover inmates who become true adherents to what the program teaches will definitely make them good citizens in a correctional environment. Their influence will positively affect other prisoners and cause them to respect authority and to avoid situations that cause tensions and hostilities between staff and inmates. The volunteers of PMI have completed a correctional ministry training course that addresses dress and safety codes, institutional and inmate typology, and how to relate to inmates. An emphasis during the program is placed on knowing and enforcing the institution’s rules and policies.
